I have not not such a kicked back day in a long time. Today was all about spending time with the wife. Hanging out and talking, playing a few games.
What I did get accomplished to day was going to Rally class. This is one of those classes that is all about getting focus from your dog, well and getting them to do the behaviors. The 4 dogs that are in this class are a great bunch to watch. I almost wish the class was longer than an hour to see if they could perfect the course before leaving.
After class I went home to pick up Jessie and we went to Genghis for an early dinner. We came home watched a little tv and now it’s bed time.
Not a very exciting day but still was a good fun day.
My wonderful, beautiful, and amazing wife let me sleep in today until almost 9am. What a sweetheart! Once I awoke, I began playing my addicting game, Mass Effect. Once I tore myself away from the TV, I went to Genghis Grill for some lunch. Today I kept it simple with Steak, Noodle, Onions, Green Onions, Pico de Gallo, Egg, and cilantro. I topped it off with some Cajun spice and BBQ Sauce.
After lunch, I had a full day of work ahead of me. Jessie is taking Chompy to my Adolescent class. Today he made improvements upon his “wait” and recognition of his name when she says it. Chompy behaves much better for me than for my wife, which is why she is working with him now. I felt like he and another dog in that class made some great progress today.
Immediately following my Adolescent class, I taught a Toy class. This is for dogs that are 15 pounds or less. Then, I taught a puppy class that has a Mastiff and a Bloodhound; I adore their wrinkles so much. The last class of my day was another puppy class, but this was their graduation day. They have all grown so much in the short 6 week class; I’m so proud of their accomplishments!
Time for some more Mass Effect.
I got a lot of working out done today. I started the day out with some walking on the Treadmill. I walked for around 40 minutes, enough to watch an episode of 24. I am up to a 5 incline for the whole duration of the walk.
I did a run with Cracker today. We did a 1.6 mile run in 15:45. When I got done I almost felt like my legs were going to fall off. This was still a great run for me. The best time I have done for a 1.6 run. Maybe one of these days I’ll be able to run a marathon. Cracker did really well too, most of the time he lags behind a little when we jog. Today he was right with me. I can only imagine he felt the same way I did when we were done.
I went and worked with Tank. Wow today was difficult, We ran in to 3 different dogs along the walking route. Every time we come across a dog it’s like he forgets everything I have been working on with him. After a 30 minute pulling fest we finally made it back to his house where he stopped pulling me.
I headed for lunch after working with Tank. I got a sliced beef bowl with peanut sauce. I got to watch a little college basketball on the TV.
I went to work on the elliptical after lunch. 90 minutes on the elliptical and my legs were killing me.
I needed a little break so I turned on Mass Effect and played for a while and relaxed.
I had a Bulldog club meeting tonight that I was doing a little teaching. There were 7 Bulldogs in this class. We did some training and had a meeting afterwards. All in all it was a fun day.
This has been a very long day and I am ready for bed.
I started today off with a back ache. Maybe I slept wrong or maybe the dog slept right in the middle of my back again. Either way I was a little slow moving around this morning. This is also because of the hike from yesterday. As much fun as it was my calf muscles were sore today. I never would have guessed that after jogging, walking and working on an elliptical for the last month and a half that I would be sore from a hike. Oh well I went and walked Cracker this morning. I felt better after the walk and got the muscles moving again. I spent some time talking with Crackers owners. It’s been a while so I was happy to catch up.
I went and worked with Tank, today was pretty good until we saw another dog off leash coming at us. I don’t understand how so many dogs are wondering around downtown. It is very frustrating when we are doing so well then a dog comes up and they just start fighting. If you have ever tried to pull 2 dogs apart while they are fighting it’s very difficult. What makes it even more of a pain is keeping them apart with no help. This was about a block away from where tank lives. After I got them apart I took tank home and then the other dog wasn’t really having it so I had to walk him back to where the fight took place. At this time he was fighting me and bouncing around till he finally got free and took off running.
I went to go do the volunteer work this afternoon. I got to answer some questions and help some people out. It always makes you feel good when you can give people solutions to their problems.
I went and had some lunch after that at Genghis grill. I had another Turkey bowl with some pineapple and a mix of BBQ and Teriyaki. Good stuff. I watched some of the NBA trades on TV while I was eating. It was a good little break from the day.
After lunch I worked on the elliptical for an hour, 1100 calories. I had to get ready for work after the workout. Took a shower and then was out the door.
Today’s classes were a puppy class and a Canine Good Citizen. Both fun classes, I only had one puppy today in the puppy class but I think he really had a great lesson. In the CGC I had 2 dogs one I just met tonight a Mastiff. He is such a great dog and looks just like the dog from Turner and Hooch. The other was a really nice Golden. This class is all about getting the right behaviors. This class is going to make me work but I think it will be worth it.
Today has been a long, very fun day.
I started today off by by waking up late, not that big of a deal normally, but I needed gas in my car. So I left about 20 minutes late from my house on the way to the gas station. On my way there I received a phone call. This was from one of my clients who was having some problems. I help solved most of her problems and then got gas. 30 minutes later I was on my way to Crackers house. When I got there he was waiting for me. We took a quick mile mile walk.
I still had to go work with Tank. I walked with Tank and he did so much better today. The problem was I got caught up in a conversation with Tank’s mom Betty. We talked for what I thought was only 10 minutes but turned out to be almost 25.
I had talked with one of my previous clients and she showed me a hiking spot today. Keystone canyon and Evans canyon. What a fun hike. It was about 2 hours in total and I took my Boxer Zelda. I haven’t seen her have so much fun in quite some time. She was off leash for 2 hours walking around and hiking, it was her and another dog a lab named Kate Rose. They both did so great. By the time we got back to the cars I was beat. It didn’t seem like Zelda was beat until we got in to the car and she laid right down and looked like she could barely keep her eyes open. On our way home I stopped at McDonalds. Yes I said McDonalds. I got a couple large waters, one for her and one for me. She drank about half the cup and laid back down and then passed out.
I dropped off Zelda at home and then headed to Genghis for lunch I was pretty hungry. I got there and I got to eat lunch with PJ one of my fellow trainers. What a nice surprise since it wasn’t planned. We chatted for almost 2 hours. It was a lot of fun to catch up on things. Most of the time we see each other in passing or talk on the phone.
I had another bowl very similar to yesterdays.

After lunch/ late dinner. I headed home to grab the rosters and Ipad and off to do some training. I had 2 classes to teach tonight. A Pits and Bullies class and a second level Brilliant Buddy class. Both these classes have some great dogs in them. When you have great dogs it makes teaching so much more enjoyable.
It’s been a long day so I am off to bed.
This morning I got up and got started early 7:45 am I got moving on the treadmill and played a little mass effect 3. I walked until 9 and burned 190 calories 2 and a half miles. I got all ready to go and feed the dogs.
I went over to walk Cracker. He wasn’t around when I got there but today instead he was inside. They kept him in so he wouldn’t wonder. We went for a 2 mile walk for 35 minutes around the pond again.
After walking Cracker I went to work with Tank. Today Tank fought me almost the whole trip. We went for a little less than a mile. It took almost 30 minutes just to go that far.
After taking Tank home I needed to go to the SPCA. We are trying to get classes started up there so I took them some more brochures. I took a few minutes and went through the kennels. It is always heart breaking to go through shelters. I saw a few dogs and pet a couple of them.
I headed to lunch at Genghis after leaving the SPCA. Today’s bowl was a Turkey BBQ bowl.

I came home to finish cleaning. I had the kitchen to sweep and mop and some laundry to finish. I got started on the kitchen right away and it took quite a while. The floor was really dirty. The foster we have doesn’t keep the food in the bowl.
When Jessie got home we went out to grab a sub for dinner before she headed back to work. We went to Gandolfo’s. I had a bad sandwich but it really tasted great. It was a chicken BBQ sandwich. I am on a BBQ kick right now.
I started off by today by waking up later than I wanted. I had to jump out of bed to make sure that I got the garbage out. After I got the garbage and the recycling out I wanted to get a little workout in but ran out of time. So I went for a longer walk with Cracker this morning about 2 and a half miles around a little pond.
I felt like a maid, After I got home from walking Cracker and doing a little shopping I got a lot of the house cleaned up. It’s been a while since I had done a deep clean. I am still not done cleaning. Going through lots of papers and cleaning out the filing cabinet. Wow you wouldn’t believe how many papers you can collect in just a few years of living in 1 spot..
Around 4 I went on a date night with Jessie my wife. We went out to Genghis Grill for early dinner. I had a breakfast bowl tonight. I wanted to really try something different. So I had some Ham, Potatoes, Onions, Bell Peppers, and Eggs. To top it off I had some tortillas to make the breakfast burrito.
I couldn’t finish the bowl so I brought it home and now I have some breakfast for tomorrow morning.
Now I am going to just kick back and watch some TV and get a early start tomorrow.
I wish I had an exciting story to tell you about what I did today. The problem is that I haven’t done much of anything today. It was a break from everything sort of day. I did go to Genghis today and had a sliced beef bowl with some BBQ sauce and spinach and onion with noodles. Not very exciting at all, but it was hot and tasty for the cold blustery day we had here.
I did go to class that one of my fellow trainers is teaching. It was a Rally O class. We got to work some Halt, pivot 90 degrees right, Halt. Along with a few other moves. It’s always fun to watch my fellow trainers teach. I get to pick up on the little things I may have missed before.
I cleaned up my yard from the land mines that the doggies have left. They say it is going to snow tonight and tomorrow so I wanted to make sure I got it all clean before that happened, that and tomorrow is garbage day.
The rest of the day I have spent playing on the computer doing a little work here and there and playing a game. Diablo 2 is the game. Damn game is addicting.
Today Has been a wonderful day.
I started the day off with the elliptical, 62 minutes. I really needed to burn off the couple slices of pizza I had for dinner last night. My dad stopped by to drop off some tickets to the Circus that is coming to town in 2 weeks. He brought a couple pizzas with him. So we had some dinner, I can’t complain about free.
The rest of the day was great, after the workout on the elliptical I played a little Mass effect 3 while on the treadmill.
Around 11:30 I was feeling grumbling in my stomach so I went to Genghis to grab some lunch. Steak and shrimp bowl today. MMMMMMMMMMMM. This is my favorite bowl, I could use a pick me up also. I know this isn’t the most healthy bowl I could have ate.

After lunch I went to work. I had 4 classes to teach tonight The first was an Adolescent class, even my own dog is going through this class. The second was a new small dog/Toy breed this was the first class. All of the dogs in this class seemed very afraid. By the end of the class I was able to have 2 of the dogs taking treats from me. The last dog is going to be a challenge.
The 3rd class is a new puppy class. I only had 2 in class today but I have another coming next week. Both are loose skinned dogs, the first is a Blood Hound, very cute and already is using his nose quite well. The other is a Mastiff but not any Mastiff but a Neapolitan Mastiff. I really like these dogs aside from the drool.
My last class is another puppy class with 5 dogs in class. I have a Golden Retriever, Husky, Beagle, 2 Golden Sheppard.
I just finished up the rest of my bowl for dinner and now I think I am going to hit the treadmill for a little more Mass effect time
With 22 days left in the Khantest how am I doing? I will tell you that after seeing the current standings that were posted a couple days ago I am more motivated than ever to continue with this weight loss. I have had multiple people ask if seeing someone so far ahead with their percentage if I would just give up? No I will not quit till the end and even if I don’t win the contest I am still losing weight and getting a more healthy me. Am I going to go back to my old habits of eating out all the time? No I like feeling better and I enjoy being able to jog around the block. When I first started I could barely make it a have mile without feeling like I was going to die. Now I can make it at least a half mile then I fell like I am going to die…. Just kidding, I really can go quite some distance now as long as I pace myself.
I want to say that I joined this contest not only for the opportunity to try and win some money, but change my eating habits, lose some weight get in better shape and be more healthy for me not anyone else.
The day after this contest ends I might make a splurge and get some fish and chips from one of my favorite restaurants.
I am still working hard even though I will never meet my original goal of 60 lbs in 60 days. That’s ok, it’s not that healthy to lose that much weight that fast. So where im sitting right now if I can keep the same pace and end up losing around 40 lbs I would be very pleased. My goal is to get to 180 lbs so I am going to strive to get there. I have yet to ever weight this much in my adult life and I really want to.
We took on a new foster puppy last night. 8 months old and afraid of lots of things. That’s ok I will work with her after she has had a couple days to calm down. Things are very new and scary for her so I just want her to get use to the house and the dogs before I really jump in to it. I will keep everyone updated on how the training is coming along.
I got more cores to work on the patio with. I only need 180 more to finish the patio. Thats very exciting, Now if they were ready for me to go pick up I would finish it this weekend but I bet I have at least another month before they become available. Thats ok I am a very patient person.
Today’s bowl was very similar to yesterdays. The only difference was that I added some peppers and used the red curry peanut sauce. Better than yesterdays bowl. My local GG is out of BBQ sauce. I really wanted a BBQ bowl today but what can you do? Hopefully tomorrow they will have more.
I want to get some more time in on the elliptical today so I had better get going.
